REMINISCENCES of REMINISCENCES
Moms and Dads
Wives and Husbands
Sons and Daughters
And some bachelor Boys
All stalwarts, no minnows
Some 110 of them….

Loud Cheers
Careless whispers
Recalling and ruminating
Fond memories
Of wicked ways and loving days
The unsaid thanks
Silent apologies
Success stories
Of two decades!

The Green lawn
With the coloured and colourless liquids
Flowing through and flowing over
Some whisked away by Whisky
RUM rummaging few others
And the Gin ginning a few ‘gins’
The uncool cooled with cooldrinks

Last, but The least
Lasting-tasting lavish spread
When a few went blase
Started the blatant blare
‘Thanaro thannaro..’
AND the evergreen SURANGANI
Some said…Past was a Blast.

The Surangani Blast,
Blast OF the past
Man, What a Blast!

Let me start my long anticipated journey into writing ,today, now, and quite incidentally, today is Diwali. Me being a religious being, I would like to consider this as an auspicious beginning. Though the deafening sound of crackers outside is representing my joy now, I am actually feeling serene and calm, sure so, 'am embarking on a spiritual journey. As the wish I sent out today, let this array of lights - Deepawali - lead me too through this journey!
